The Skill-Building Program is a hugely important part of Farmhouse Rescue. The program empowers adults with physical and cognitive disabilities to develop existing talents, learn various new skills, foster a sense of independence, and improve their fine motor skills through their work on the farm. These are all so important in enhancing their lives, feeling a sense of achievement, and understanding their worth within the community.

Being in a social environment and meeting new people who will treat them kindly and with respect is also a  benefit of our program.  Our participants enjoy being around the animals and look forward to their time spent on the farm.

We also give ongoing support and create pathways to employment by connecting participants to local agricultural jobs for them to gain paid employment in the future if they so desire.
